The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

The Presidential Library collection has been enriched with materials from the Russian State Library, the State Public Historical Library, the Center for Social and Political History of the State Public Historical Library, the National Library of Russia, the N. K. Krupskaya Moscow Regional State Scientific Library.

The presented publications are included in the collection: "The Romanov dynasty. The 400th anniversary of the Provincial Council in 1613" (section Alexander III (1845-1894)), "The Russian people" (section Ethnology of individual nations),"State authority "(section Heads of the Soviet state).

-The Romanov Dynasty

Book of Nicholas G. Runkevich Great tsar-peacemaker and his teachings (St.P., 1909) is devoted to the life and activities of Emperor Alexander III - son of Emperor Alexander II and the father of the last Russian autocrat Nicholas II.

Published by the Secretary of State's diary Peretz the brochure Alexander III and the Constitution (Berlin, 1906), tells of a meeting of the State Council in March 1881, to discuss the project "Constitution" by Loris-Melikov.

Worker of the revolutionary emigration Peter Fedoseevich Alisov in brochure Alexander III Reformer. Scene 2 (Geneva, 1881) criticized the political activities of the emperor-autocrat.

The collection of poems of Vera Mikhailovna Buznia Emperor Alexander III in Russian poetry. February 26, 1845 - October 20, 1894 (St. Petersburg, 1912), includes poems dedicated to the events of life, death and the memory of the emperor.

-The Russian people

The work of ethnography and archeology Alexander Vlasyevich Tereshchenko "Way of life of the Russian people" (St.P., 1848) based on the rich historical and ethnographic material was one of the first serious collections of Russian folklore, rituals and customs. The basis of ethnographic data writings formed the Central Russian provinces, as well as the Russian North. The book of Tereshchenko was one of the first research in which there have been those thematic and conceptual approaches to the study of Russian history, which is fully revealed in the second half of the XIX century: understanding of Russian history as the history of the people, not the state, and of special interest to the home of the national life.

In the first part fully and clearly is disclosed the concept and the essence of the nationality, a detailed description of dwellings in which our ancestors lived, the way of life and economics and clothing, the songs, round dance, dance-tunes, musical instruments

The second part is entirely devoted to the wedding customs in different provinces of the Russian Empire, tsar’s grand wedding ceremonies and weddings of commoners.

The third part describes the baptisms, funerals, memorial services, describes the method of calculation of calendar time, days of the year, the importance of Demetrius Saturday.

The fourth part is devoted to children's, men's and girlish games and amusements, spring and summer round dances.

The fifth part tells about a meeting of spring, on the celebration of Red Hill, St. John the Baptist, Radunitsa, Yarila, how Dozhinki, bratchiny lived, how they noted the Indian summer.

The seventh part describes the Yule rites, hobbies, fortune telling and the general celebration of Shrovetide.

-The State Authority

After the death of V. I. Leninby the II Congress of Soviets of the USSR was adopted a special resolution of the Collected Works of the leader. The first edition of the works came out during his lifetime (since 1920-1926.) and consisted of 20 volumes. The second posthumous edition of Lenin's works consisted of 30 volumes and included more than 2,700 works of the author. The main purpose of the drafters was to collect and make available to the reader all the literary and political legacy of Vladimir Lenin. The second edition includes everything that has been written and published by Lenin himself, as well as transcripts of its oral pleadings. The second edition includes several articles and notes that at the time of the first edition were not found, and the authorship of which has not been established. Also included for the first time were included letters of Lenin (at least 300). The material is arranged in chronological order.
