13 March 2015

The F. A. Kovalenko Krasnodar Art Museum opened a fund exhibition "Crimea. Thread connecting ages" dedicated to the ancient and beautiful land - the Crimean peninsula.

The exposition includes 17 paintings and graphic works of Russian artists of the second half of the XIX century - the first half of the XX century.

Bright, unusual and multi-faceted nature of Tauris (Crimea ancient historical name) has always attracted artists. It was devoted to the works of such renowned artists and graphs as Ivan Aivazovsky, Arkhip Kuindji Konstantin Bogaevsky, Sergei Vinogradov, Maximilian Voloshin.

Works of architects of many Orthodox churches of the Crimea, the artist Valentin Feldman and chief of the Society of Russian watercolors Alexander Yegornov are very remarkable.

Bright colors and light melodies sound in the picture of painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of the RSFSR Vasily Meshkov "View of the Monastery of St. George. Crimea".

Transfer of subtle nuances of states of nature is embodied in the works of Kuban artists Nicholas Sharikov and Platon Krutko.

All the artists are original masters, they have different creative styles, but one thing is in common - a love for this beautiful and ancient land, the desire to glorify its unique nature on their canvases.

The exhibition will run until March 29, 2015.
