History and culture: The results of the restoration of cultural heritage objects in 2014 are presented at the exhibition in Moscow

March 10, 2015 at the State Research Institute of Restoration (Moscow) opens an annual exhibition-report on the activities of the institution. Visitors can see old icons, bas-reliefs, manuscripts and paintings. Guests at the vernissage will tell about the restoration of a number of exhibits from Russian museums and churches, the center stage will be taken by Smolensk Icon of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral in Smolensk and marching crew of Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov of the Borodino Military and Historical Museum. Visitors will learn about the main stages of the restoration of these items, with the way they looked before and after work.  

In addition, in the halls of the Institute will be presented rare Old Believer icons of the XVII-XIX centuries, works of oil painting, including portraits by Igor Grabar, several bas-reliefs of the famous painter and sculptor Fyodor Tolstoy and other rarities.

The exhibition will run until April 10, 2015.
