
Internet and culture: The presentation of the Internet project “Russian autographs. Monuments of Russian letter in the collections of the Department of Manuscripts of the NLR” in Saint-Petersburg
March 5, 2015 in the main building of the National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg) is held a presentation of the internet project "Russian autographs. Monuments of Russian letter in the collections of manuscripts of the NLR".
The project was developed in 2014. At present, the resource is writing samples of 135 historical documents of well-known figures of Russian history and culture of the XVIII - XX centuries. (Peter the Great, Catherine II, Paul I, Speransky, Batiushkov, Zhukovsky, etc.) and will be constantly updated. In addition to images, you can find comments on the writing samples and brief biographical information.
Resource reveals the history of Russian letters from various points of view - through the samples of handwriting and signatures of prominent figures of Russian history and culture through a manual for learning to letter of the XVIII - XIX centuries, through a variety of graphic forms taken by Russian letter at different stages of its existence, starting from the time of Ostrom Gospel.
The resource is designed for a wide audience, both teachers and students in secondary and higher education institutions, as well as for specialists in the field of archives, handwriting, paleography, font design. The resource will be of interest to all lovers of Russian history and culture, and is available at the website of the NLR to everyone.
