World history: The exhibition “Small Arms of the XX century” opened in Ivanovo

The Museum of Industry and Art (Ivanovo) hosts the exhibition “Small Arms of the XX century” from the private collection of Joseph Mikhailovich Boterashvili, numbering about 100 objects.

The collection is based on small arms, which was in service of the regular armies of such countries as the Russian Empire, the USSR, Germany, the USA, England, Belgium, Finland, Israel, Czechoslovakia, Poland and others.

The collection contains a very rare “green Kalashnikov”, produced in 70s of the XX century, there were manufactured 2000 units. Currently, it is known 3 samples in the world: one is presented in the M. T. Kalashnikov Memorial Museum in Izhevsk, the second at the Museum of the Border Guard Academy of FSB of Russia, the third one can be seen by visitors of the exhibition.

The visitors are presented submachine-guns by Thompson, one of which was placed under Lend-Lease to the USSR, the complete collection of legendary guns “Mauser”, the world-famous submachine gun “Uzi”,  the entire range of weapons by constructor M. T. Kalashnikov.

This exhibition is dedicated to the grandfather of collector Joseph Davidovich Chikvashvili - a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, as well as all veterans who have made a huge contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
