Russian culture abroad: The Sergei Mikhalkov Library opened in the Francis Skorin Minsk gymnasium

The Russian Culture Foundation and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus within the framework of a literary fund project "Today - children, tomorrow - the people" opened the Sergei Mikhalkov Library at the F. Skorin gymnasium №1 in Minsk.

Gymnasium №1 was not chosen at random: according to the work results in 2014, it was named the best educational institution of the capital; high-school students take first place in numerous contests and competitions, participate and win in international competitions in Russian language and literature. Gymnasium - participant of the innovative project of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus "Introduction of a model for the formation of the language person in a state of bilingualism". 

The Russian Culture Foundation brought to the library exhibition, assembled from archival photographs of Sergei Mikhalkov, educational, artistic and educational books in Russian, audio and video discs.

Today the Commonwealth of Sergei Mikhalkov libraries includes twelve children's libraries in Russia - in the city of Ulyanovsk, Pyatigorsk, Grozny, Magnitogorsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod. Abroad the members of the Commonwealth are libraries in South Ossetia (Tskhinval), Slovakia (Bratislava and Ruzomberok), Poland (Bilgoraj) and Ireland (Galway).

These libraries do not just work in their regions, but also actively interact with each other, sharing experience, organizing joint events and workshops. The Minsk Gymnasium, which was the thirteenth in a row, is accepted in this community.
