Internet and culture: The virtual project “S. T. Konenkov. These different, different, different faces” at the Smolensk Museum-Reserve website

Since February 2015 at the website of the Smolensk Museum-Reserve is running a new project "These different, different, different faces" - a virtual tour of the S. T. Konenkov Museum of Sculpture. The travel is designed for year, every month you can get acquainted with one of the sculptures of Sergei Konenkov.

The first meeting will introduce participants of the project with a "Sculptor" (1964, tree) - the most recent and unusual self-portrait of the master.

In 1964 Sergey Timofeevich turned 90 years old. He conceived the work as a kind of result of creativity as an opportunity to say a word about the masters who devoted their life to their favorite occupation. The sculptor has created a "Sculptor" in the tree - a material that he loved for its beauty, unique plastic possibilities, for their ability to convey the innermost feelings. This work can be seen today in a small room on the second floor of the S. T. Konenkov Museum of Sculpture in Smolensk.
