World history: The photo exhibition “BERLIN 1945. Victory in photographs of the front correspondent A. Arkhipov” in Moscow

April 22, 2015 in the "Museum of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia" (Moscow) supported by the Russian Military and Historical Society is opened the exhibition "BERLIN 1945. Victory in photos of the front correspondent A. Arkhipov".

The exhibition was created with the active participation of the heirs Anatoly Arkhipovich Arkhipov and is timed to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Viewers are presented a series of photographs taken during the storming of Berlin, the first weeks of the peaceful life of the former capital of Nazi Germany in May 1945, as well as some earlier works. The pictures depict the soldiers of the Red Army and the people of Berlin, fellow correspondents and prisoners. A significant part of the photos are not intended for publication and has been performed "in memory", at the request of soldiers and officers, on the orders of commanders of various ranks.

The exhibition will run until August 30, 2015.
