Memory of Russia: The IX International Military-Historical Festival “The Battle on the Ice” in the Pskov region

April 19, 2015 on the shores of Lake Peipsi in the village Samolva of the Gdovsky District is held the IX International Festival of Military History "Battle on the Ice".

The festival is one of the most significant events of the calendar event in the region. It is held to draw attention to the glorious history of the Pskov region and the Russian army, the development of the patriotic movement, promotion of cultural heritage sites - places of interest, where was held the the battle of Prince Alexander Nevsky with the Teutonic Knights.

According to the tradition, on this day in the village Kobylie of the Gdovsky Mare's district in the church of the Archangel Michael will be held a celebratory prayer, then a solemn meeting. In the village. Samolva will be held the reconstruction of the battle, as well as interactive platforms, full-contact fighting mass (buhurts), hiking finals of the tournament.

The festival involves some 100 reenactors from Russia and neighboring countries.
