Peoples of Russia: The exhibition “Costume of the Peoples of Russia in the graphics of the XVIII-XIX centuries” in Cheboksary

The National Library of the Chuvash Republic (Cheboksary) hosts the exhibition opening “Costume of the Peoples of Russia in the graphics of the XVIII – XIX centuries” from the collection of the Russian State Library of Arts (Moscow).

The exhibition features a part of the collection of engravings, lithographs and watercolors of Russian and foreign artists of the XVIII-XX centuries, rightly to be a proud of Library of Arts. Works of artists, depicting costumes and paintings of everyday life, show a wide range of views of artists from different eras on the national costume of numerous peoples inhabiting the Russian Empire.

The exposition features quality copies by artists I.-G. Georgi, I. M. Korneev, G.-F. Pauli and other prominent masters. The exhibition has not only an informative but also artistic interest.
