April 16, 2015 in the M. T. Kalashnikov Museums and Exhibition Complex (Izhevsk) is opened the exhibition “In the rear as in the front”.

The exhibition, dedicated to 70th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War, is created with the participation of the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps 9Saint-Petersburg), on plant materials: “Izhevsk Metallurgical Plant”, “Votkinsk Machine Building Plant”, Izhevsk Motor Plant, “Axion-Holding”, as well as the Central State Archive of the Republic of Udmurtia and the Documentation Center of the modern history of the Udmurt Republic.

The focus of the exhibition – the labor feat of workers of Izhevsk plants, forged victory in the rear, - boys and girls, women and the elderly, replaced the departed to the front men. This is a personal story of factory workers, who passed the ordeals of war.

The exposition features samples of weapons of Izhevsk plant: carbines and rifles, machine guns and cannons, anti-tank guns, pistols and revolvers. Virtually the entire arsenal of industrial countries was evacuated just in Izhevsk - Tula, carpet, Kiev, Podolsk, etc. During the war, Izhevsk released 80% of the country's small arms.

But apart from Izhevsk samples, the exhibition presents a wide variety of foreign weapons and ammunition, representing opposing coalition during the Second World War. These weapons come from Germany, Poland, Finland, Norway, Italy, the UK, the USA, France, the Soviet Union.

The exhibition also touches issues and geopolitics - the causes of the Second World War (the main part of which was the Great Patriotic War); its results, the reasons for the post-war confrontation of the former allies - the USSR and the USA.

The exhibition will run until mid-September 2015.
