To the 50th anniversary of the first man out in the space: The exhibition “The first step in the universe” in Kaluga

The K. E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of Cosmonautics (Kaluga) was opened the exhibition "The first step in the Universe", dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first man out in the open space.

The exhibition tells about the preparation of the crew of the spaceship "Voskhod-2" as part of P. I. Belyaev and A. A. Leonov to a remarkable flight, during which time ]was made the first spacewalk, and the flight itself, the first transition from one spacecraft to another through open space, which was carried out by E. V. Khrunov and A. S. Eliseev, a spacewalk first woman – S. E. Savitskaya of extravehicular activity (work in open space) on the orbital stations "Salyut-6", "Salyut-7" and "Mir". Visitors will be able to find out what work is carried out in an open space, what tools and equipment used at the same time, how to change over time outfitting astronauts.

The exhibition features exhibits from the collections of the K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum of Cosmonautics: suit for spacewalks, tools and items of equipment that are in the course of extravehicular work, as well as commemorative badges and medals, photographs and documents devoted to work in open space.

The exhibition will run until September 10.
