To the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory: The exhibition dedicated to the patriotic activity of the Tula diocese during the war

The Museum of the Military History of the Tula region hosts the exhibition “With the faith to Victory, with the prayer in the heart”, dedicated to the patriotic activity of the Tula diocese during the Great Patriotic War.

Such an exhibition was opened in the museum for the first time. New pages of military history, illustrating a little-known patriotic activity of the Tula diocese during the Great Patriotic War, as well as telling about the Tula-clergy who participated in the war are presented to visitors.

The exhibition presents photographs not only acting but also destroyed during the war, churches (Church of the Twelve Apostles in Tula, St. Basil's Church in the village of Sergiev Venevsky area, destroyed by the Germans Nicholas Church in Aleksin and others).

Of particular interest is the award of Yemelyan Klimentievich Polishchuk, Archpriest of the Tula temple Demetrios Solunsky: Order of the Great Patriotic War II degree, Medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and others. Also to the audience is presented a genuine garment of the oldest archpriest Belevsky and Aleksinskoye diocese, rector of Epiphany Church in the village Mishnevo of Suvorov district Grigory Ivanovich Frolov, his photographs and notebook with the dates of the stay at the front and in captivity.

The exhibition will run until the end of June 2015.
