Internet and society: The Russian Internet Governance Forum is opened in Moscow

The sixth Russian Internet Governance Forum is held on April 7, 2015 in Moscow. The forum is organized by the Coordination Center of National Domain of Internet and the Technical Center of Internet with the support of the ICANN and RAEK.

The forum is held in defining for the global Internet community moment. In the run-up to the World Summit on the Information Society, to be held at the end of 2015 it became clear that greater attention to the problem of the Internet governance and national segment. At the same time representatives of stakeholders - government, the technical community, business and civil society - are looking for new solutions to existing challenges in the field of security, confidence-building the web, protection of human rights, the development of the digital economy. In the space of options for the development of Internet governance, these problems require a search for consensus and mutually agreed approaches to be discussed at the Forum.
