Society and culture: Issues of the cultural heritage preservation of the North Caucasus are discussed at the forum in Gelendzhik

From 3 to 5 April 2015 in Gelendzhik for the first time is held the International Scientific Forum "Cultural heritage of the North Caucasus as a resource of inter-ethnic harmony". The program of events - plenary sessions and roundtables, including dedicated to the preservation and promotion of historical, cultural and literary heritage of the North Caucasus, the media environment in the region. In addition, at the conference is discussed the concept of encyclopedia "Cultural Heritage of the South of Russia".

Forum is planned to be held annually. It is expected it will become an international and inter-regional platform for dialogue between representatives of science, education, institutions, socio-cultural sphere, tourism, executive and legislative authorities, NGOs and civil society institutions in order to create the scientific and methodological support of the state cultural policy, as well as policy in the field of international cooperation, protection and use of cultural heritage.

The event is organized by the South Branch of the D. S. Likhachev Russian Research Institute for Cultural and Natural Heritage.
