Museums of Russia: first in the country representative office of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts opened in Ulyanovsk

A representative office of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin opened in Ulyanovsk. It appeared on the basis of the restored Ulyanovsk Museum of Modern Fine Arts of 20-21 century. The first regional branch of the Moscow cultural institution had been quartered in four second floor’s halls of the renovated building in the center of Ulyanovsk.

The building of the Ulyanovsk Museum of Modern Fine Arts named after A. A. Plastov has been under restoration from 2013 until recently. In the future, these two museums will launch joint projects that will let regional residents to see the unique collection of artworks of federal museum and its partners in the Ulyanovsk Region. This is first such representative office of one of the largest art museums of Russia in the regions.
