2015 is a Year of Literature in Russia: "Live Alliance of Arts and Word" exhibition in Stavropol

On May 29, 2015, Stavropol Regional Museum of Fine Arts opens an exhibition titled the "Live Alliance of Arts and Word" devoted to the Year of Russian Literature. This is a new version of the permanent exhibition called "The Golden Collection", which includes paintings, drawings, sculpture and applied arts by domestic and foreign masters of the XVIII and the first half of the XX century in a living relationship of these art forms with language art.

Unique museum exhibits and book publications, including rare ones, allow observing a growth and stylistic transformation of literary word and representation: how do they link historically, what is their contribution into the world culture.

Works by artists, who had the literary gift, are shown together with books, poems, notes, articles and letters and reveal new facets.

Different items of Eastern culture — richly decorated roundtable by Indochinese carvers of the XIX century with motifs of the Indian epic, designed for libraries, ceramics and china with hieroglyphic captions, Classic Japanese prints, XIII century Persian tiles with the surah’s texts of Quran are also present a union of arts and word.

The exhibition focuses a wide range of visitors of all ages, including learning aid in school curriculum.
