
Memory of Russia: The Living Antiquity Festival at the Rostov Kremlin National Park and Museum
From the 29th to 31st of May 2015 in the Rostov Kremlin State National Park and Museum will be held the Living Antiquity traditional festival.
This festival restores to life of the traditional image of the Rostov Fair.
This year, one of the significant events of the Living Antiquity festival will be an appearance of the musician, collector and researcher of Russian folklore, an author and a host of the Musician’s Wandering TV cycle Sergei Starostin. He will make a presentation of archive television project "Global Village", talking about traditional culture. The project’s archive, which will be presented in the Rostov Kremlin on May 30, is so far one of the most important collections of videos on Russian peasant tradition of the late XX century.
A special place in this year’s program of Living Antiquity devoted to scientific meetings. For the first time the “Traditional Art in the Context of the Modern World” scientific-practical conference will be held at the festival. Its organizers are the State republican center of Russian Folklore of Russian Ministry of Culture in conjunction with the Rostov Kremlin Museum and the Russian Folklore Union.
