Book publishing and book distribution: The project “Read Russia” is presented at the Warsaw Book Fair

The project “Read Russia” is presented at the Warsaw Book Fair. It is a part of the promotion program of modern and classical literature and national book publishing abroad.

The Annual Warsaw Book Fair, WBF, is held from May 14-17, 2015. This is the venue for professionals of book industry and just book lovers. 

The project “Read Russia” aims to promote international humanitarian cooperation, establishment of business contacts, the emergence and implementation of new joint projects of Russian publishers and their foreign partners, promotion of Russian literature.

The Russian stand is divided into the following thematic areas: modern and classical Russian literature; books on the history, philosophy and sociology; educational and children's literature; culture, traditions and art of the Russian Federation; the 70th anniversary of Victory over fascism, the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Caucasus. Participants and visitors of the fair will be able to see the production of well-known Russian publishing houses.

After the exhibition, all the books will be donated to the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Warsaw (RCSC).

The Warsaw Book Fair will be presented to the Russian initiatives and projects that open up opportunities for foreign publishers, translators and literary agents. In particular, the Institute of Translation, established by the largest libraries, universities and humanitarian funds of Russia to support the Russian translation and publication activity of classical and modern Russian literature in foreign languages, will introduce visitors to the fair with the main directions and results of their work. There will be held presentations of the award for the best translation of Russian literature into foreign languages ​​“Read Russia”, the Institute of Translation and Rospechat, the round table on the problems of translation of classical and modern Russian literature into Polish.   

One of the highlights of the Russian stand will be a series of meetings of Polish readers with leading Russian writers. Writers meetings will also be held at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Warsaw.

The Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language will present modern distance learning programs for the Russian language.
