History and culture: XXV anniversary Days of Slavic Writing and Culture start in Tomsk

The Days of Slavic Literature and Culture − XXV Anniversary Spiritual and Historical Reading in Memory of Saints Cyril and Methodius will take place from 14th to 24th of May 2015, in the Tomsk Region.

A subject of reading this year is the “Prince Vladimir. Civilizational Choice of Russia” and they are dedicated to the thousandth anniversary of the passing away of St. Prince Vladimir.

The annual Days of Slavic Written Language and Culture in Tomsk in their status, participation and diversity of the projects are a unique event that takes place in Siberia during twenty-five consecutive years.

The many days the regional and urban Reading program includes the plenary and final sessions, the major city and regional cultural events, conferences and sections, regional competitions, contests, exhibitions and forums. Within the framework of the Days of Slavic Writing and Culture audience in Tomsk will be able to see the movies of the "Golden Knight" International Film Festival and participate in the discussions, to go to the exhibitions in the museums, to walk in religious procession over Tomsk, and to attend the final Gala concert. A set of events for children and young people is also prepared: there will be the spiritual and historical quizzes, the sections’ reports, the debate, the Orthodox Tomsk quest.

A distinctive feature of the Readings is always considered to be the representativeness of its guests. Traditionally, to participate in the Readings activities are invited state, church, public and cultural figures with a broad fame.

This year’s events will take place in Tomsk and furthermore, for the first time, in all areas of the region.
