To the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory: The exhibition “Yasnaya Polyana: War and Peace” in Tula

May 7, 2015 in the gallery “Yasnaya Polyana” (Tula) is opened the exhibition “Yasnaya Polyana: War and Peace”. The exhibition features photographs of Yasnaya Polyana of the Great Patriotic War time and modern images of the estate. Visitors will be able to see Soviet and German military weapon, elements of uniforms and personal things of soldiers. The exposition presents the book of Leo Tolstoy “War and Peace”, published in 1941.

The main purpose of the exposition is to show on the example of Yasnaya Polyana how terrible the war which carried destruction and death was, how it is important to preserve peace.

The exhibition is created with the participation of the Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate “Yasnaya Polyana”, the Museum of Defence of Tula, the Museum of the History of the Leo Tolstoy Yasnaya Polyana Secondary School, the group “Hope” (the Schekinsky district) of the Regional Youth Search Center “Seeker”.
