Book publishing and book distribution: Russian stand has become one of the most visited at the Geneva Salon of Book and Press

In Switzerland the Geneva Salon of the book and the press, the second largest after the Paris Book Fair cultural event in French-speaking language environment completed its work.

This year Russia performed at the salon in the status of a Guest of Honor. The Russian stand was one of the most visited at the salon, all the same, according to preliminary estimates the Geneva Book and Press Salon attracted attention of more than 120 thousand visitors.  

Stood in the colors of the national flag, the Russia stand area of ​​600 square meters was characterized by modern functional design.

The stand features the following topics: Russian classical literature, modern Russian literature, art, and travel to Russia, Russian food, "I speak Russian". A special section - "Children's Literature", which will house an exhibition of illustrations by contemporary Russian artists of the book to the tales of the peoples of the world, the best examples of contemporary Russian children's book, funny installation.

A special section is presented the literature devoted to the most important date - the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism. In the design of this section were used photos of famous Soviet war photographers. The Russian stand also houses an exhibition of graphic works of the famous Russian artist Alexander Tikhomirov "In memory of the innocent victims", dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. 

Another special section "Russia and Switzerland" demonstrated a book on the history of Russian-Swiss diplomatic and cultural relations, translations of Swiss authors into Russian.

At the end of the Salon exhibition was transferred to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Switzerland and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Geneva.
