Society and science: Eight scientific readings in memory of A. S. Popov, dedicated to the Radio Day, in Saint-Petersburg

May 7, 2015 in the A. S. Popov Central Museum of Communications (Saint-Petersburg) are held the Eight scientific readings in memory of A. S. Popov, dedicated to the Radio Day – the holiday of workers of all the branches of communication.

The theme of the Eight scientific readings: “From telegraph to the iPhone and iPad”.

2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of the International Telecommunication Union and the 120 years since the invention of radio by A. S. Popov, whose discovery was the basis for the rapid development of telecommunications in the XX century. Eight scientific readings in memory of Alexander Popov are devoted to telecommunication, the present and the prospects for the development of telecommunications.

The scientific readings are attended by representatives of scientific and educational institutions, museums, companies producing telecommunication equipment, companies providing communications services, individuals - all of whom are interested in the history of telecommunications and their development prospects.
