Russian regions: The round table “Chekhov in the Trans-Baikal”

In 2015, to Siberia took place the meeting of three important cultural events: the Year of Literature, 155 years since the birth of A. P. Chekhov and 125 years since his famous voyage to the island of Sakhalin.

June 25 at 13:30 in the hall of the Trans-Baikal Regional Center of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library will be held a round table "Chekhov in the Trans-Baikal", which was attended by well-known historians, members of the Trans-Baikal branch of the Russian Geographical Society, writers, journalists, university teachers, students, librarians, members of the public.

The guest of honor of Chita this year has become became a director of the Association of intermunicipal cooperation "Siberian path», Ph.D., coordinator of the campaign "Route Anton Chekhov in Siberia to Sakhalin" Leonid I. Rizhenko. L. I. Rizhenko talked about how the action appeared and on the beginning of realization of the wider project "Siberian highway".

With great attention the participants of the event participants watched a film of television company Altes "Chekhov on the Trans-Baikal…", filmed in 2013, the history of which was told by journalist Leonid Komissarov.

June 26 L. I. Rizhenko and experts of the A. S. Pushkin Trans-Baikal Regional Library went to the city of Nerchinsk and Sretensk to participate in activities prepared in the framework of the action.
