History and culture: The All-Russian Turgenev Festival in the Orel region

June 27, 2015 the I. S. Turgenev "Spasskoye Lutovinovo" Museum-Reserve (the Orel region) invites to the All-Russian Turgenev holiday "Nests of noble cherished avenue…".

Every year the festival is held in the second half of June. It was at this time Turgenev often visited his homeland. For more than a quarter of a century in the Spassky Lutovinovo is held the Turgenev holiday.

Now, as in the days of Turgenev, lively action is held on a large meadow in front of manor house. There will be sounded a folk and classical music, the living word of Turgenev. The natural scenery, recreating the unique atmosphere of an old aristocratic mansion, artists of the Tula Drama Theater will present scenes from the Ivan Turgenev's comedy "Freeloader".

On this day, the guests of the museum-reserve will see: fair of crafts, contests and quizzes, bookstores and gift raffles, boating and riding in horse-drawn carriage.
