World history: Permanent exhibition dedicated to Normandie-Niemen Air Regiment opened in Le Bourget

The permanent exhibition dedicated to the legendary air regiment Normandie-Niemen was solemnly opened in the Air and Space Museum in Bourges (France), and Deputy Defense Minister of Russia Yuri Borisov attended the ceremony.

Yuri Borisov greeted on behalf of the Ministry of Defense of Russia the participants of the ceremony and handed the museum a number exhibits: a copy of the monument to Normandie-Niemen in Moscow, copies of the documents on the establishment of the regiment and photos of Yak-3.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to Normandie-Neman Regiment has become a key event in the series of occurrences held in France to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The museum exhibit includes unique documents, photographs and personal belongings of the pilots, as well as one restored Soviet Yak-3, in which French pilots returned home in 1945.
