International events: Modern literature of the Republic of Belarus is represented at the exhibition in the National Library of Russia

An exhibition of books, received as a gift from the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian National Library opens on June 1, 2015, in the New Acquisitions’ Exposition hall of the main building of the Russian National Library (St. Petersburg).

The exhibition features more than 200 exhibits. Among these are books on natural history, political science, history, culture, ethnography, fiction, journalism and periodicals, and scientific works.

Special attention is given a facsimile edition of one of the most famous works of the prominent statesman, church and cultural figure of Belarus and Russia in the XVII century Simeon Polotsky. His work entitled "The Rod of Reign", published in Moscow in 1667, played a key role in the cultural and religious processes in Russian society.

The exhibition will run until 1 July 2015.
