Exhibitions: Works by the greatest Russian artists of the XIX-early XX centuries presented in Ufa
The M. V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum (Ufa) inaugurated the exhibition of Russian art of the XIX - early XX centuries, devoted to significant event - the 95th anniversary of the museum. The exhibition is part of the "inter-museum project".
The exhibition presents the Ufa viewer creations of famous masters of Russian art in different directions, as well as opening up new names.
This project involves eleven major art museums and galleries of Russia. There are exhibited works from the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chuvash State Art Museum, the S. D. Erzya Mordovian Republican Museum of Fine Arts, the Vasnetsov Vyatka Art Museum., museums and art galleries in Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Penza, Nizhny Tagil, Samara, Chelyabinsk, Perm.
The M. V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum today has collection of more than twelve thousand exhibits. This is fine and decorative arts of Russia, Western Europe, Eastern countries, folk and professional art of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The idea of creating a museum belongs to the Russian artist, a native of Ufa Mikhail Vasilievich Nesterov, whose name is a museum since 1954. In 1913 he gave a gift hometown 102 works from his collection, which included 30 works of the donor, as well as works by artists of the 2nd half of the XIX - early XX centuries.
