Information technology and culture: The database of the cultural heritage abroad to be created in Russia

Work on the creation of an electronic database of objects of the Russian cultural heritage abroad is started by the Ministry of Culture. It will take place in several stages. At the beginning will be planned roster of churches and monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church in the different countries, cemeteries and graves. Also, it would make the monuments to well-known to Russians. Along with descriptions of objects the database will include images of cultural objects.    

In addition, the cultural heritage objects will be inflicted on the map. With special icons will be marked up over five hundred most important places. Among them there are the Paris Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the cemetery of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois in Nice and Belgrade, where many representatives of Russian Diaspora are buried. It is planned, that the database will be located on the portal  «Культура.рф».

The base will also contain information about the structures and buildings whose authors are architects from Russia.

A separate section will consist of materials by experts and journalists, telling about the condition of the now these objects as they are used. Historians will present their articles on representatives of Russian culture, working abroad.
