22 July 2015

The "Book alleys at the Mikhailovsky Castle of the State Russian Museum" is supported by the Government of St. Petersburg, the Russian Museum and the Writers' Unions of the city and runs from July 18 to October 3, 2015.

"Book Alleys" is a unique cultural space, including elements of the reading room, bookstore and literary Hyde Park in the open air. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to meet interesting architectural ensemble of the Mikhailovsky Castle, which is a set of objects of the State Russian Museum.

As part of the "Book of alleys" at the northern facade of the Mikhailovsky Castle pavilions are set to trade books and bookcrossing. An important part of the "book of alleys" was a project for the implementation of urban newspapers and magazines.

Bookselling is accompanied by meetings and autograph sessions with popular authors, literary discussions, as well as a vibrant cultural program on the open stage.

"Book Alley" is a logical continuation of the St. Petersburg International Book Fair, which was held in May. We hope that the Book would be a new avenue of St. Petersburg cultural tradition that promotes reading", - said the chairman of the Committee for press and cooperation with mass media Sergey Serezleev.
