Exhibitions: The State Literary Museum presents exhibition “Pasternak and War”
On the upper veranda of the Boris Pasternak House-Museum (Peredelkino villgae) is held the exhibition "Boris Pasternak and War" dedicated to the writer's life in the evacuation. The exposition is based on photographs and reminiscences of writers’ children who lived next to Boris Pasternak in the town on the left bank of the Kama.
In those years, in the Chistopol in summer people planted garden, dressed in winter a tree; children baking cookies, learned to read, fell in love, growing up, trying to answer the questions that life put before them. Many of them later wrote memories about those years.
In such dissimilar memories is drawn a portrait of Boris Pasternak. More than modest life brings people together with each other and with nature and inspiring writer. He is working on translations of Shakespeare, reading literary circle meetings in the house of the doctor Avdeev "Romeo and Juliet", "Antony and Cleopatra". Appearing in writing dining room, on the streets of Chistopol, in the orphanage, it will forever remain in the memory of littondale boys and girls.
Part of the exhibition includes photographs of children, their memories of life in Chistopol. Another part - documents and photographs that tell about the life of the writer's colony. Visitors will be able to see photos from the exhibition "Passing Pasternak" made V. Avdeev in 1942.
The exhibition will be completed on July 29.
