Museums abroad: The first rooms of the branch of the State Russian Museum may be open in Cuba in 2015

At the end of 2015, Cuba will start operating a branch of the State Russian Museum. According to Vladimir Gusev, who holds the post of head of the museum, repository of fine art from St. Petersburg and the Cuban culture ministry signed a document. He recalled that the virtual branch of the Russian Museum began working in Havana in spring. "Now it is time to move on to the second stage of cooperation", - he added.

House of the Russian Museum opened in the old mansion, where a large suite of rooms are located on an area of more than four thousand square meters.

It is not just an exhibition of masterpieces of Russian artists. The branch will be multidirectional cultural center. In addition to digital copies of paintings from the collection of the Russian Museum, there will be presented and paintings from other museums. The work of small expositions is also provided.

The school of restorers to local craftsmen will be opened in the branch of the museum.
