History and culture: The Serbian and Russian history discussed in Belgrade

3 July 2015

June 29 in the Russian Center in Belgrade was held a meeting, a day after the great Serbian holiday - Vidovdan, as well as the anniversary of the battle that took place in 1389 at Kosovo Field. As half of the Ottoman army, the Serbian army, led by a wonderful prince-martyr Lazarus Khrebelyanovich went into battle. In the battle were killed the Turkish sultan and the Serbian Prince, along with almost his entire army.

The Russian welcomed young people interested in history, who read the texts, and then spoke in Russian about this battle and some Russian battles that resemble the Serbian. Of course, all participants noted the Battle of Kulikovo as an analogue of the Serbian and then the discussion has shifted towards the Russian history and its outstanding representatives.
