Internet and history: The Russian Military-Historical Society plans to create a historical analogue of “Wikipedia”
The Russian Military-Historical Society (RVIO) creates the analogue of "Wikipedia" - Russian historical encyclopedia ("Ripediya"). The website, which will be open in October, will initially be available approximately 24 thousand articles. To submit an article in "Ripediya" is possible to a registered expert only. To become an expert will need to take the test on knowledge of history. According to representatives of RVIO, this will help to secure a new online encyclopedia of false information, which is an abundance of "famous" "Wikipedia".
At the time of the launch at the websites "Ripediya" will be posted articles from the Great Russian Encyclopedia, the Orthodox Encyclopedia, two volumes of the Encyclopedia of History, and about 4 thousand copyright articles. While working on a project that will take years, encyclopedic article is supposed to be rewritten and completed.
The man who wants to be able to write in the "Ripediya" will have to send the administration a resource own historical article for publication. After verification and approval by the professional historians the article will be published, and its author will be one of the experts "Ripediya".
