The Russian language: The meeting of the working group developing concept of teaching the Russian language and literature took place

August 24, 2015 was held the meeting of the working group developing concept of teaching the Russian language and literature.  The chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin hosted the meeting.

At the meeting the experts presented the basic material of the future document. The work is going on three main directions: the teaching of the Russian language in school, studying Russian as a foreign language and teaching of literature. Emphasis needs to be done on quality rather than on the amount of teaching - experts believe. The basis of the project will take the concept of the school of philology, prepared by the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature.

"Our task is to try together formulating the basic framework for future decisions on the whole range of problems relating to the development of Russian literature. We also plan to provide long-term objectives for the promotion of our great language and literature in the world", - said S. Naryshkin. According to him, these benchmarks have "serious potential of the "soft power", which we use to improve the credibility of Russia's position in the world".
