Internet and history: The Solovetsky Monastery presented Internet project, dedicated to the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in the XX century

The Solovetsky Monastery presented Internet project “Clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in the XX century”.

The aim of the project “Clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in the XX century” is the creation of the most comprehensive database of biographies of the clergy of the Russian church in the XX century and materials about forms of their service.

The formation of database will be remote together with the Orthodox believers of the whole world.

According to creators of the portal, it "is designed to help every… man to find materials that reveal the faith and the beauty of the service of his ancestor: memories, photos, references to books, articles, archival sources, composition, materials to participate in interesting events, moving profession of faith".

The project will run on several fronts - enlightenment (feat popularization of new martyrs and confessors, samples of pastoral ministry, proper spiritual life), research (study of the history of the Church in the XX century, based on the array of biographies of the ministers of the Church), and missionary.

As part of the project it has already been created the original database software module, developed and launched in test mode operation of the site through which the database is available, it started the filling.

The database consists of two interrelated parts - "Biographical Database" and "Digital Library". It is planned the creation of the "temple". To help to develop the project is possible on the page "To participate in the project".
