Society and book culture: Fifth All-Russian Ex-libris Congress in Vologda
August 18-23, 2015 the Vologda Regional Art Gallery hosts the fifth All-Russian Ex-libris Congress. All the best samples of contemporary bookplates will be on display in the Korbakov House and the Central Exhibition Hall.
August 21, as part of the Congress, a large-scale Russian ex-libris exhibition will open (more than 1,000 works of 150 authors), 10 special exhibitions of bookplates and engravings from the classics to contemporary exhibits will be organized. The 2015 exhibition is organized by means of a grant from the Russian Ministry of Culture under the support of the government of the Vologda Region.
The geography of participants of the project is striking: these are the capital and many large cities along with small centers of the North, the South, the Urals, Siberia and the Far East. Among them, Vologda, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Tagil, Ufa, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Novorossiysk. As never fully re wizard Bookplate masters from Belarus are presented as fully as never before; artists from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the Baltic states traditionally show their works in Vologda.
