The peoples of Russia: "Etudes of the North" festival of native peoples in Tomsk Oblast

The "Etudes of the North" Festival of Native Peoples for the tenth time starts on August 15, 2015, on the shoreline of the Oskino Lake in the Parabel village of Tomsk Region. This year's festival promises to be massive as it will gather participants and guests from Verhnektskiy, Kargasokskiy, Kolpashevskiy, Parabelskiy districts, the Republics of Tuva, Altai, Khakassia, and also the Evenks of Buryatia will attended the event.

Festive program, among the participants of which are the art teams of the Tomsk Region and visitors from Siberia, is based in the Year of Literature on the legends and myths of the small peoples of the North.

Folk crafts and trades fair will be expanded on a festival arena. All comers will get a chance to take part in the national games and competitions. To get familiar with peculiarities of ethnic cultures, to taste local cuisines and, according to the ancient traditions of the northern peoples, to undergo the rite of purification by fire and water will be possible in the improvised traditional village.
