Information technology and museums: The Metropolitan Museum presented mobile application

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) has released a mobile application for smartphones with an interactive map of the museum Condominium. The basis for creating applications is on three principles: the card must be "useful, easy and enjoyable".  For its creation were used Google technology.

The map is designed primarily to address the problem of orientation in the museum, it also noted the location of exhibits and exhibitions. All images can be scaled. Map until additional information on each exhibit - this feature is planned to add in new versions. The application was developed on the basis of already existing digital map of the museum, designed for desktop and available on the website of the Museum. The advantage of the version for Smartphone is more rapid changes and additions related to new temporary exhibitions and other current events. The new application is available for platforms iOS and Android.
