The Year of Literature in Russia-2015: The many hours literary marathon to the anniversary of A. P. Chekhov took place

August 1, 2015 as part of the celebration of the Day of the City in the Year of Literature in Omsk was held a literary marathon "300 minutes with a book: let’s read Chekhov together", which brought together 70 participants.

On this day, Chekhov was read in different languages: French, German, Tatar and Kazakh. The participants of the marathon have become actors and directors of city theaters, Omsk poets and writers, historians, journalists, businessmen, teachers and students, veterans of Omsk culture, librarians of the city and the area, residents and guests of Omsk.

Marathon in the format of non-stop lasted for 400 minutes instead of the claimed 300 minutes, from 12.30 to 19.10 hours.

August 2 was organized a free microphone to read the stories of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. Omsk residents will enjoy reading stories and listening to classical record of his works performed by all of favorite Russian actors.

Literary Marathon, organized by specialists of the Central City Library of Omsk has become a bright event in the Year of Literature.
