Information technology and education: Russian schoolchildren won gold medals at the 27th International Olympiad in Informatics

Russian team won a total three gold and one silver medal at the 27th International Olympiad in Informatics. In addition, the second in the world result in the standings showed Russian Mikhail Ipatov. Russian students traditionally included in the top ten teams in the world of science, showing good results at this level of competition in recent years.

In June 2014 representatives of Russia took the first two places at the World Championships command Collegiate Programming Contest, held in the city of Yekaterinburg. In 2012, the Russian team won the 24th International Olympiad in Informatics in Italy. Thanks to this result, the annual international Olympiad in Informatics will be held in Russia for the first time - a place it held in July 2016 will be the city of Kazan.

International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) - is an annual competition in computer science among schoolchildren. IOI was first held in 1989.

The competition consists of two days in which participants are invited to solve algorithmic problems and programming. Participants compete individually. Each country cannot be more than four members, who are selected through national competitions.

27th International Olympiad in Informatics held in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan from July 26 to August 2, 2015. The competition was attended by 324 students from 84 countries.
