Memorable dates of Russia: Photo exhibition “Derbent. Live connection of times” to the 200th anniversary of the city in Moscow

The association "Photo Center" (Moscow) from 15 to September 28, 2015 hosts a photo exhibition "Derbent. Live connection of times".

Derbent - one of the oldest cities in the Russian Federation. In September 2015 it celebrated its 2000th anniversary. The photo exhibition is timed to this event. .

The photos were taken in 2014 and 2015 during the expedition to Derbent by famous photographers of Russia. In their works, the authors presented a vivid cross-cutting thematic palette that reflects the life of the city.

Visit of the exhibition begins with photographs depicting the dawn of the ancient city, and the night ends with views of Derbent. This creates the effect of a personal presence of one day, during which the visitor can not only see the sights of the city, to preserve the unique medieval character, but also to get acquainted with its people of different nationalities, religions and cultures, their everyday way of life, holidays, traditions and customs. To underscore the centuries-old continuity of life in the city and its citizens are presented some previously unpublished photos of the XIX and XX centuries.
