The Year of Literature in Russia-2015: The exhibition to the 195th birth anniversary of Afanasy Fet in Moscow

September 17, 2015 in the Museum of the Silver Age (Moscow) is opened the exhibition “Beyond the last days…” The name is borrowed from Fet and Blok: his early collection Blok calls by the line from Fet’s poem, the former for him "guiding star". "My favorite poet" by Andrew Bely, "the godfather of poetry" Balmont, Fet was the "first love" by Bryusov, the leader of Russian symbolism.

Portraits and books of successors of Fet in the poetry of the XX century are presented to the visitors at the exhibition entrance. In the literature of the XIX century are marked the names and the facts and linking Fet and the Silver Age: "literary advisers" Ap. Grigoriev, I. Turgenev, Vl. Solovyov, the idol of Fet F. Tiutchev, a close friend of J. Polonsky, Leo Tolstoy. It is in their work were metioned symbolist poet sprouts of a new aesthetic.

The exhibition is full of materials that pose a memorial or a bibliographical rarity:

- Photographs of Fet with autographs and the first editions of his poetry, memoirs and translations with inscriptions, including the verse;  

- A miniature portrait of a mother of Fet;

- Picturesque portrait and photographs of his wife (M. Botkina);

- A letter of Fet to Turgenev with the recall of the story "Asya";

- Amateur photography of the village of Stepanovka;

- Photographs of the house of Ap. Grigoriev autographed biographer of Fet G. P. Blok (cousin of the poet) and a cover letter, given to the Literary Museum;

- Stationery manuscript of A. Blok autographed by the four poems;

All these rare pictures, manuscripts and books are presented against the background of Russian and European landscapes and types of places which Fet visited.

The exhibition will run until October 25.
