Museums of Russia: The branch of the State Hermitage Museum to be opened in Kaluga

The branch of the State Hermitage Museum will be opened in Kaluga, one of the first exhibitions will be dedicated to Russian arms and the war of 1812, says the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

"The Ministry of Culture of Russia creates a branch of the State Hermitage and other major museums throughout the country, so you can see the priceless exhibits at arm's length", - said after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Hermitage and the Government of the Kaluga region the Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky.

Such centers of the Hermitage are already opened in Kazan, Vyborg, and it is planned to open branches in Omsk, Yekaterinburg and the Far East.

According to Director General of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, the center is proposed to be opened in Kaluga will be cultural and educational, exhibition.

In addition, the same day the head of the region and the Minister of Culture of Russia, Chairman of RVIO Vladimir Medinsky signed an agreement on cooperation between the Russian Military-Historical society and the Government of the Kaluga region.
