Society and culture: The exhibition “Rembrandt. Another view” in Moscow

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) with the support of the gallery "Triumph" within the framework of a special project of the VI Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art presents from September 8, 2015 the exhibition "Rembrandt. Another view". The exhibition shows works of Moscow artist Dmitry Gutov (born 1960) and works by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (1606-1669).

Especially for the exhibition Dmitry Gutov created a composition of the drawing by Rembrandt from the collection of the Pushkin Museum "A young woman with a child in her arms". Viewers will also see other works by Dmitry Gutov inspired by the great Dutch master drawings. Corpus of Rembrandt's works selected for the exhibition, in addition to the beautiful paintings from the permanent collection of the Museum "Ahasuerus, Haman and Esther" (1660), includes etchings from the collection of the Pushkin Museum.

Dmitry Gutov – a participant in numerous exhibitions and biennales. His works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

Dmitry Gutov works with photography, video, drawing, painting and creating large-scale installations.

By this exhibition the Museum continues the tradition of the compound of classical and contemporary art. The exposition has once again demonstrates the influence of the old masters to contemporary artists.
