Memorable dates of Russia: The first meeting of the organizing committee to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Osip Mandelstam

September 7, 2015 in Rospechat is held the first meeting of the organizing committee to celebrate events in honor of the celebration of Osip Mandelstam.

January 3, 2016 marks 125 years since the birth of writer, essayist, translator, literary critic and one of the greatest Russian poets of the XX century, Osip Mandelstam.

It is planned a large-scale celebration of this significant date. Decree on the establishment of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of events in honor of this significant date under the chairmanship of Michael Seslavinskiy was approved by Rospechat on September 2, 2015.

Chairman of the organizing committee Mikhail Seslavinskiy noted that it is already formed a program of activities, including conferences, exhibitions, poetry evenings and festivals not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in Voronezh, Vladivostok and other regions of the country. "According to our estimates at the end of 2015 - early 2016 will be held more than 100 events related to the life and work of a wonderful Russian poet", - said Seslavinskiy.
