1 September 2015

September 1, 2015 at the Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate "Yasnaya Polyana" (the Tula region) is opened a new expositional project "The Art of Writing", which tells the story of the multifaceted talent of Tolstoy's words as an artist.

The exhibition features favorite works of Leo Tolstoy from Yasnaya Polyana Memorial Library. Among them - the folk tale, poems by Alexander Pushkin, "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens, and other books. Also, visitors will see the photos of Leo Tolstoy and a desk, symbolizing the working place of the writer, which was presented this spring at the "Drafts - to white light" in the Tula Historical and Architectural Museum.

Visitors will also be able to get acquainted with the process of working on the works of Leo Tolstoy and trace the steps of his work on the design of the book. The exhibition will tell how carefully and painstakingly the writer worked with manuscripts, repeatedly changing and rewriting the texts, taking into account all the details to achieve the desired result.
