Book Publishing and Distribution: Russia is the guest of honor at the anniversary Belgrade Book Fair

All the variety of Russian literature will be featured from October 25 to November 1, 2015, during the days of the Belgrade Book Fair at the Russian national stand, whole all kind of activities will take place there, offering every visitor something interesting.

In the year of the 60th anniversary of the Belgrade Book Fair Russia is a guest of honor, and it happens at the same time when the Year of Literature goes in our country.

More than fifteen hundred books of the leading Russian publishers will be presented at the national stand. Serbian lovers of Russian literature will meet with the best editions of classic works, new books by contemporary authors, colorful albums and guides to Russia, and the broad exhibition of textbooks, especially for those who are already studying or just about to start learning the Russian language, reasonably complemented with the numerous dictionaries. Among presented pieces is a literature on Russian history, cooking, arts and crafts, as well as bright and colorful children's editions.

Guests will be greeted with the "Treasures of the Russian Book-learning" exhibition from the collections of the Kolomenskoye National Park and Museum, dedicated to the history of development of Russian alphabet and the book culture.

The theme of Orthodoxy will take a leading position in the Russian program. A book exhibition and a special program of activities, presented under the "Orthodox Russia" title, will include: the presentation of "Orthodox Encyclopedia", releasing by the Church and scientific center of the Russian Orthodox Church; presentation of the collection of articles of Serbian and Russian authors, dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the repose of St. Blessed Prince Vladimir; the "Second Baptism of Russia" Serbian language version of film; presentation of new editions of the Sretensky Monastery; "The Russian Orthodox Church Book Production" public lecture and others.

A sizeable round table on the translation from Russian into Serbian and Serbian to Russian is in the agenda as well. The Institute of Translation has prepared a big program for translators: its spokesman will announce their grant program, will conduct an applied workshop for translators and, as a result of the joint Serbian-Russian accomplishments, along with their Serbian counterparts and interpreters, will present the first book of "The Serbian Word" series entitled "Catch a Shooting Star: An Anthology of Contemporary Serbian Narrative", published in 2015.

Historical Perspective Foundation is planning a presentation of a series of books on the history of the Serbian-Rus

The A. S. Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language has prepared a large program for those who are just going to learn the Russian language. One full day on the stand will be focused on the introduction with the work of the huge Internet portal "Education in the Russian»/PushkinOnline», which is offering remotely from anywhere in the world besides learning Russian, to learn on Russian and to teach others.

After the exhibition all the books will traditionally remain in Serbia: the editions will be transferred to the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Serbia, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, the University of Belgrade and other cultural institutions in Serbia.
