"The Artist's Palette. Semen Kozhin. A History and a Contemporaneity" exhibition opened on October 22, 2015, in the Atrium exhibition hall of the Kolomenskoye Estate State National Park and Museum (Moscow). Semen Kozhin is one of the brightest representatives of the galaxy of graduates of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the founder and leader of which is I. S. Glazunov. He works in different genres of easel painting: in the plotline and thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes and still life. The artist's canvases are marked with poetic spirituality, compositional clarity and coloristic harmony. However, he prefers the landscape most of all. Just that genre most fully demonstrates a talent and a skill of the artist. There is some documentary images among his landscapes that render architectural motifs, as well as lively, airy, harmonious views of nature or philosophical, full of the great depth of meaning compositions.

This is the first exhibition of Semen Kozhin in the museum halls full of unique works of art created by Russian masters in the XVI-XIX century. Comparing the museum masterpieces with painting of talented beginner, the viewer can connect the historical artifacts with contemporary art through the prism of classical paintings of Semen Kozhin.

The exhibition will continue until November 29, 2015.
