Memorable dates of Russia: The Day of Lyceum is celebrated in Tsarskoye Selo

October 19, 2015, Tsarskoye Selo traditionally celebrates the Day of Lyceum as part of the International Lyceum Festival "Tsarskoye Selo Autumn", which every year becomes the most important event in the cultural life of St. Petersburg, promotes strengthening and development of cultural contacts between the peoples of different countries.

Traditionally, on the eve of the Lyceum holiday under the arches of the famous educational institution the Festival brings together prominent figures of culture and art, descendants of Pushkin and his lyceum friends coming from different countries. The festival contributes to the revival of interest in Russian poetry, literature, art, draws into its orbit the largest possible number of spectators and participants, especially young people, brings together all those who support the Lyceum motto: "For the common good!"  

Traditional festival program includes:

- Children's festival;

- Lyceum ball at the Great Hall of the Lyceum;

- Presentation of "Tsarskoye Selo art award";

- Literary salon;

- Laying flowers to the monument to Pushkin in the Lyceum garden;

- Literary and musical gala evening at the Museum-Lyceum on October 19^th;

- Opening of exhibitions and other activities.
